* The closing film of Bakunawa Fest 9 serves as the kick-off film that ends the 9th edition (season 2022-2023) and opens the 10th edition (season 2023-2024) and one of the highlights of the in-person screenings of the Bakunawa Fest 9 at UP Film Center which shall also screen the winners to be announced by end of March 2023 after Bakunawa Fest 9's successful Philippine Primetime TV premiere of its curated programs.

The film is the story of Páo, forced into marriage at a young age due to the Indigenous People's H’Mông’s tradition to marry at age 14. Turning 18, he meets Di, a young tourist, and falls in love for the first time.

Nguyen Pham Thanh Dat is a young director currently studying and working in Hanoi. He is studying at Hanoi University of Theater and Cinema, majoring in Film Directing, Founder of the filmmaking team Mounter and co-producing with 35DMT Media and Multimedia Entertainment Joint Stock Company.
In 2022, with the project "Páo's forest", Thanh Dat won the First Prize of the "My Vietnam" contest launched by Netflix and the Best Short Film Award of the 6th Hanoi International Film Festival.
