BAKUNAWA FEST X proudly presents this year's ONLINE FILM SCREENINGS - a blend of fantastic, over-the-top, sensitive, meaningful, provocative and interetsing films from different places, diverse cultures and directors whose varying visions give audiences a wider perspective of the world beyond us.
SECTION: PINOY KLASIKS presented by Bakunawa Fest X and SolarFlix TV
For the first time in the history of BAKUNAWA FEST, three Filipino film classics are programmed to remind current audiences how films from the past have helped shape us in many unique ways. These films have entertained us in touching, horrifying, comedic and fantastic ways. We're very proud to present again 'Kisapmata', an unsettling thriller by one of the Philippines' best, Mike de Leon. We're equally proud to present 'Haplos', a dramatic ghost story by the acclaimed Butch Perez. And we're very excited to re-introduce to the Gen Z audiences another classic, 'Mga Mata ni Angelita' starring no less than one of the most memorable and beloved child actresses of her time: Julie Vega.
ONLINE SCREENINGS OPENS 8 PM, OCT 17, 2023 / Because of our continued partnership with Solar Pictures and SolarFlix TV, we're keeping these film titles open.

PINOY FANTASMA KLASIKS presented by Bakunawa Fest X and SolarFlix TV
Filipino films were more than fantastical since the early 60s, mixing all genres in one movie. A dramatic scene might end up in an erotic situation or quickly turns into comedy with matching song number in sudden time-travelling sequence, transporting all characters in another exterior location for bigger dancing space. A long action sequence reaches dusk and the next sequence turns into horror with the whole barrio participating in hunting flying monsters! Spiritual scenes suddenly becomes fantastical - you name it, it did happen in the past! Perhaps audiences wanted to see more for the price of one.. So BAKUNAWA FEST picks its first three movies to be presented under this section! Prepare for the daring and controversial 'Silip' by Elwood Perez! See zombies bump into each other after Supergirl effortlessly avoids them! Move over Martian Manhunter, here comes Zuma - based on the popular Pinoy comic character!
